Retro Cars for Ford, Dodge & Chevrolet
13th February 2006
What a great time to be alive with retro classic cars coming back to us in 2007. With Ford recently doing a great retro job on the Ford GT40 and Mustangs, Dodge and Chevrolet have released their own retro muscle cars with Chevrolet building an all retro styled Camaro and Dodge the retro Challenger.
Retro Chevrolet Camaro
Based on the 1969 Camaro this new retro Camaro boasts an impressive LS2 6.0-litre V8 estimated to produce around 400hp pumped through it's six speed manual gearbox. Rolling on 21' 275/30 fronts and 22' 305/30 rears, this rubber gives the muscle car an aggressive look.
It isn't yet confirmed if this baby will go into full production but with the success of Fords Mustang and GT40 you can bet your bottom dollar that there is a pretty good chance that it will happen.

Retro Dodge Challenger
Another concept that just might make it to production is the retro Dodge Challenger. With an impressive 6.1 litre 425hp hemi V8, with 420 pounds-feet of torque, this car would make any rev head drool. Power in the Dodge is pushed to the rear via a six speed manual transmission rolling on 20 and 21 inch wheels. Performance figures for the Challenger are damn good too with quarter mile times in 13 secs flat, top speeds of 174mph / 280 kph and 0 to 60mph in 4.5 secs.

2007 Ford Shelby GT 500
And finally the 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500 Mustang will be launched by Ford. Recreating the legendary Mustang after legendary status for the past 40 years.
Specs include a 5.4 litre V8 with overhead cams and four valves per cylinder producing an awesome 475hp. The engine comes equipped with and Eaton supercharger with 8.5 pounds of boost. Power from the V8 is delivered via a six speed manual gearbox rolling on 18 inch wheels with P255/45ZR up front and P285/40ZR on the rear.
